Palau Aur or Aur Island 22 miles south of Tioman island offers the best black marlin and jigging action in Penisular Malaysia. The island is teeming with fish because of no commercial fishing allowed in the area – the rocky terrain around the island and the abundance of baitfish attracts big pelagic predators like: Black Marlin, Sailfish, Trevally, Wahoo, Dorado, Cobia, Narrow barred Spanish Mackerel, Groupers, Snappers and other bottom dwellers are also plentifull here. We do 3 day/2 night to 4 day/3 night long live-aboard trips to Palau Aur with departure from Tioman island, Desarau or from Kampung Penyabong Jetty for up to 5 anglers. We include all fishing equipments in the trip - quality rods, reels, poppers, jigs and all terminal tackle needed, so you don't need to carry heavy fishing gear on the flight from your home. Palau Aur fishing season starts in mid March and end last week of October.

The most popular ways of fishing around Palau Aur are live-bait fishing around the many FAD's in the area and jigging and fishing with baited hooks over some of the wrecks and bottom structures . These methods provide plenty of excitement and challenges for all anglers. For jigging, metal jigs and spoons are normally used while casting sees anglers on stick baits or poppers. On the way out to Palau Aur we stop at different FAD'S to catch bait fish such as kembong, sardines and Sekla (Yellowtail Scad) You can fish for Dorado and Narrow Barred Spanish Mackrel at the many FAD's in the area.  The vessels we use got big live-bait tanks for keeping an ample supply of live-bait for the whole trip. Drifting live-bait or baloon fishing live-bait can result in a marlin, Sailfish, Narrow Barred Spanish Mackerel, Dorado and Wahoo.
