Pekan Sailfish fishing

Kuala Rompin is already famous for it's world class Sailfish fishing, not many anglers know about the Sailfish action South-east of the small town of Pekan north of Kuala Rompin. The best Sailfish areas we normally fish out of Rompin in August to end of October (around Palau Berhala and the banks south and south east of Berhala island) are located closer to Pekan town than from Rompin. Pekan is located 40 km south of Kuantan Town, the capital of Pahang state and 78 km north of Rompin. The advantage of departing from Pekan compared to from Kuala Rompin is that the Sailfish fishing areas is closer to Pekan than from Kuala Rompin (you get more fishing time at the prime Sailfish areas with a Pekan departure), it's also much easier to travel to Pekan compared to Kuala Rompin from overseas as there are daily flights to Kuantan airport (35 km north of Pekan) from both Singapore and from Kuala Lumpur, there are also many daily air-con busses departing from Kuala Lumpur bus terminal to Kuantan, and hotels in Pekan and Kuantan are better and lower priced than than in Rompin. The daily fishing charter rate (private charter) for a 10 hour trip for max 4 anglers is 760 USD in Pekan compared to 860 USD in Rompin. We also got a bigger boat (46') available in Pekan suiatable for groups up to 8 anglers.
 


PEKAN DAY TRIPS - PRIVATE CHARTER
Pekan day charters are priced at 750 USD for a private charter for up to 4 anglers for the 2023-2024 season.  To confirm any dates we need a 50% deposit, the balance is to be paid in cash before departure. If you for any reason can not come we will book you in for another available date without any extra fees. We accept PayPal and TT bank transfers for the deposit payment.

Price includes:

  • A full-day charter from 8am-6pm (10 hrs.) for up to 4 people (private charter, only your group onboard plus the crew) 
  • Hotel pick-up from any Pekan or Kuantan town hotel
  • lunch boxes
  • Mineral drinking water
  • Free use of professional fishing equipment and tackle
  • Experienced English speaking crew English speaking crew

Not included:

  • Accommodations, room /board, however contact information & recommendations are provided upon request. 
  • International and domestic Airfare
  • Beer or other alcoholic beverages.



Pekan Sailfish VIP Package
 

VIP - Sailfish - Narrow Barred Spanish mackerel- juvenile Black Marlin package: 4 days fishing - 5 nights accommodation. Cost for 2 anglers: 3355 USD, cost for 3-4 anglers (2 rooms twin share): 3730 USD. To confirm a VIP package trip we need a 50% deposit at booking date and the balance paid latest 2 weeks before the trip. We accept PayPal and TT bank transfers for the payment (PayPal and bank transfer fees is not included in our rates)

Included in the package:

  • 5 nights hotel accommodation (twin share) at 4 star Ancasa Royale Resort - Pekan 
  • 4 full days fishing for Sailfish, Black Marlin, Dorado and King Mackerel
  • Hotel or resort transfers to the boat and back after the fishing trip
